Debbie Zambetti, AMFT
With warmth, curiosity, and directness, Debbie creates a supportive space for people to build a fulfilling relationship with themselves and the world around them. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that healing happens when intellectual and emotional insight support deliberate, values-driven action.
Before becoming a therapist, Debbie worked in the nonprofit sector, offering strategic support to mission-driven leaders. It was that experience as a coach and confidant that led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University. Now, as a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, Debbie works with high-achieving individuals and couples facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, work/life imbalance, ineffective coping habits, difficulty understanding or accepting emotions, recurring relationship challenges, and all manner of life transitions.
Debbie trusts that her clients are the experts in their own lives—but she isn’t afraid to gently challenge assumptions, explore patterns of resistance, and offer new ways of understanding long-standing struggles. Using an integrative approach rooted in the psychodynamic exploration of formative experiences, Debbie draws from evidence-based practices ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Internal Family Systems, and EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy), to meet clients with compassion and flexibility– wherever they are ready to begin.
Outside of work, Debbie can be found valiantly trying to tame an unruly vegetable garden, hiking trails along the coast, or finding any other excuse to sit quietly outside.
