Debbie Zambetti, AMFT

With warmth, curiosity, and directness, Debbie creates a supportive space for people to build a fulfilling relationship with themselves and the world around them. Her approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing happens when intellectual insight is integrated with emotional truth.

Before becoming a therapist, Debbie worked in the nonprofit sector, offering strategic support to mission-driven leaders. It was that experience as a coach and confidant that ultimately led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Palo Alto University. Now, as a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, Debbie works with children, transitional-age youth, high-achieving professionals, couples, older adults, and more.

Debbie helps clients facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, attachment trauma, work/life imbalance, identity exploration, and the complex process of maintaining sobriety during life transitions.

Debbie trusts that her clients are the experts in their own lives—but she isn’t afraid to gently challenge assumptions, explore patterns of resistance, and offer new ways of understanding long-standing struggles. To do this, she uses an integrative approach, bridging psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, and drawing from evidence-based practices such as:

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy)

  • Mindfulness

  • Internal Family Systems

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy

  • EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy)

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)

Outside of work, Debbie can be found valiantly trying to tame an unruly vegetable garden, hiking trails along the coast, or finding any other excuse to sit quietly outside.
